Delineation of Subsurface Structural Geology in Buzrgan Oil Field Using 2D Seismic Interpretation

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study focuses on the structural picture interpretation of Buzurgan oil field in Maysan province southern Iraq. Using 2D seismic data, Synthetic traces are created by selecting reflectors section using Petrel software and well (BU-1) data currently available. The represented Paleocene to middle Miocene, which L-Fars-Kirkuk-Jaddala-Aaliji. A thrust fault that solely impacts L-Fars formation is dividing research region into two blocks each affected examined reflectors. system extends from northwest southeast. depth maps reveals some anticline folds were localized roughly surrounding locations marked all maps.

Support Vector Machine Based Facies Classification Using Seismic Attributes in an Oil Field of Iran

Seismic facies analysis (SFA) aims to classify similar seismic traces based on amplitude, phase, frequency, and other seismic attributes. SFA has proven useful in interpreting seismic data, allowing significant information on subsurface geological structures to be extracted. While facies analysis has been widely investigated through unsupervised-classification-based studies, there are few cases...

Dimensionality analysis of subsurface structures in magnetotellurics using different methods (a case study: oil field in Southwest of Iran)

Magnetotelluric (MT) method is an electromagnetic technique that uses the earth natural field to map the electrical resistivity changes in subsurface structures. Because of the high penetration depth of the electromagnetic fields in this method (tens of meters to tens of kilometers), the MT data is used to investigate the shallow to deep subsurface geoelectrical structures and their dimensions....
